The eighth edition of the Malaysia Top E-commerce Merchant (Top ECM) Awards has once again showcased the remarkable achievements of online businesses, with a staggering sales record of RM7.57 million, as announced by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).
This year’s Malaysia Top ECM Awards witnessed a remarkable increase in participation, with a total of 602 applications, reflecting a significant rise of 36.8% compared to the previous year.
The event featured three prestigious award categories, namely the Top E-Commerce Merchant Awards, Selangor E-Commerce Merchant Awards, AFFIN BANK Special Awards for Rising Stars, and AFFINGEM Women Trailblazer Awards. Out of the pool of applicants, 360 companies were shortlisted to embark on their journey in this year’s Top ECM event.
The evaluation process of the Top ECM participants was based on three key criteria, including a 50% weightage on an online sales contest, 25% on a livestream contest, and 25% on business potential criteria. A panel of judges from the e-commerce industry diligently assessed the participants’ performance.
During the event, several e-merchants took advantage of the ‘Livestream’ festival organized by Lazada at the Festival Usahawan Gempak to promote their products and services, further enhancing their visibility and reach.
Entrasact Technology Sdn Bhd emerged as the winner in the competition, earning the company a prestigious cash prize of RM10,000, along with a trophy and certificate. Caring Pharmacy Retail Management Sdn Bhd and JSK Global Sdn Bhd secured the second and third spots, receiving RM8,000 and RM5,000 in cash prizes, respectively, in addition to trophies and certificates.
Affin Islamic Bank Bhd, the main sponsor of the awards for the fourth consecutive year, expressed its honor and commitment to supporting the event. Datuk Paduka Syed Mashafuddin Syed Badaruddin, representing Affin Islamic Bank Bhd, highlighted the exclusive AFFIN BANK Awards presented at the ceremony. These awards recognized the Rising Star Award, which celebrates aspiring start-ups with tremendous growth potential, and the AFFINGEM Women Trailblazer Award, which applauds female entrepreneurs for their innovative approaches, creativity, and strategic development.
Syed Mashafuddin emphasized Affin’s dedication to empowering small and medium enterprises, providing financial support, and facilitating digital transformation and resilience. Regardless of the business’s operational tenure, Affin is committed to prioritizing business growth and connecting entrepreneurs with the right solution providers.
