5 June 2024 – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), operating under the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), continues its global commitment to harness Malaysian talent worldwide through the Malaysia at Heart (MyHeart) initiative. This platform allows Malaysians across the globe to contribute to national development regardless of their location.
Minister of Human Resources Engages with Malaysian Diaspora in Japan
During the recent TalentCorp MyHeart ‘Salam Dari Malaysia’ outreach event in Tokyo, Minister of Human Resources YB Steven Sim Chee Keong announced TalentCorp’s strategic partnership for the upcoming Malaysia-Japan Visionaries Conference 2024 (MJVC2024). The event, which attracted over 180 Malaysians residing in Japan, emphasized the Malaysian government’s dedication to engaging its diaspora for national growth.
Significant Contributions to MJVC2024
As part of its commitment, TalentCorp will provide a ¥1,000,000.00 grant (equivalent to RM30,000.00) and a RM50,000.00 bursary to support up to 20 Malaysian researchers’ participation in the MJVC2024 in Tokyo. This conference, led by Dr. Amy Poh Ai Ling, a Malaysian researcher based in Tokyo, aims to foster interdisciplinary research between Malaysia and Japan.
“In today’s global market, the best talents, especially our Malaysians, will excel wherever they are,” said Minister Sim. “Through MyHeart, KESUMA is committed to developing Malaysian talents abroad so they can contribute to the nation’s growth and benefit fellow Malaysians.”
Strengthening Ties with Malaysian Associations in Japan
During the event, TalentCorp’s Group CEO Thomas Mathew signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the Japan Graduates Association of Malaysia (JAGAM) and the Malaysian Students’ Association Japan (MSAJ). These agreements aim to enhance collaboration and support TalentCorp’s initiatives, including MyHeart and Ilham KESUMA Antarabangsa.
Mathew emphasized the evolving role of TalentCorp, stating, “By coming on board as a strategic partner for meaningful initiatives such as MJVC2024, we support our Malaysians abroad who drive and are committed to projects that provide opportunities to fellow Malaysians. That is the essence of what MyHeart is.”
Prominent Attendees and Future Goals
The TalentCorp MyHeart Salam Dari Malaysia event also saw attendance from prominent figures, including H.E. Dato’ Shahril Effendi Abd Ghany, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan, and Dato’ Sri Khairul Dzaimee Bin Daud, Secretary General of KESUMA. This highlights the high-level support for TalentCorp’s efforts to engage the Malaysian diaspora.
