Little Precious Postnatal Care (LPPC) in Malaysia, founded by architect Katrine Cheong, provides a luxurious and holistic approach to postpartum recovery, blending modern healthcare with Traditional Chinese Medicine. LPPC’s award-winning facility ensures mothers receive comprehensive care, helping them recover both physically and emotionally.

4 October 2024 – The postpartum period, while often filled with joy and bonding, can present significant challenges for many new mothers, extending beyond sleepless nights. In Malaysia, approximately 14.29% of new mothers experience postpartum depression, with contributing factors such as a lack of spousal support and mood disturbances. This reality highlights the urgent need for improved postpartum care.

Little Precious Postnatal Care (LPPC), founded by award-winning architect and interior designer Katrine Cheong, offers a haven for mothers to recover both physically and emotionally. LPPC, located in Malaysia, provides a luxurious environment that merges modern healthcare with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), creating an atmosphere where mothers can heal in comfort.

The Ruby Suite at LPPC epitomizes postnatal luxury. Designed by Katrine herself, the facility’s interiors have garnered multiple awards, including the prestigious MIID REKA Award 2021 for Design Excellence, the Asia Pacific Property Award 2021, and the Aoyama Design Forum Award. These accolades reflect Katrine’s deep commitment to creating a serene and nurturing space for her guests.

Katrine’s personal journey to founding LPPC is one of resilience. Growing up in a challenging environment, she dreamed of becoming an architect from the age of 10, with a vision to build her dream home. LPPC represents the culmination of her lifelong goal to create spaces that bring comfort and healing to others.

Infused with the knowledge of her family’s Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) background, LPPC’s holistic approach includes specially curated meals tailored to each mother’s recovery needs. By blending modern nutrition with traditional wisdom, LPPC promotes faster and more effective postpartum recovery.

As a mother of three, Katrine understands the challenges of postpartum recovery firsthand. “We listen and cater to each individual’s needs, offering a combination of traditional and modern care. Our team, which includes paediatricians, TCM doctors, nutritionists, and physiotherapists, ensures the best possible recovery for mothers during their 28-day stay,” she explains.

Safety is also a top priority at LPPC, with strict COVID-19 testing protocols in place and a nurse-to-baby ratio of 1:2, providing mothers peace of mind while they rest and recuperate. A comprehensive team of 60 members offers 24/7 support, including specialised mental health therapies like music and art therapy.

To stay ahead in the growing postpartum care industry, LPPC constantly evolves its offerings. Incorporating state-of-the-art technologies such as Emsella, a non-invasive medical device for improving pelvic floor health, LPPC ensures that mothers recover quickly and regain their strength.

Since opening in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, Little Precious Postnatal Care has supported over 1,000 mothers. It has become a trusted name for postpartum care, offering a unique blend of luxury, innovative technology, and traditional wisdom, setting a new benchmark in postnatal recovery.
