August 30, 2014 (Sat): Microsoft had turned off its Windows Live Messenger for most users last year after its acquisition of Skype but the said service still being offered to users in China. According to a report by BBC, a number of Chinese Windows Live users received emails from Microsoft on Thursday, informing them of the planned closure by 31 October 2014. This is marking Windows Live Messenger will end its 15-year-old service after October this year.
