18 April 2024 – In response to the increasing demand from Malaysian businesses, MATRADE (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation) and Amazon Global Selling have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing the development of cross-border e-commerce in Malaysia. Through a series of quarterly outreach events and comprehensive training initiatives, the two entities are poised to empower local entrepreneurs and introduce Malaysian brands to a global audience via Amazon’s platform.

Mr. Mansor Shah Wahid, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at MATRADE, highlighted the significance of the partnership in aligning with Malaysia’s digitalization and economic growth strategies, emphasizing the potential for Malaysian SMEs to expand internationally. Anand Palit, Head of Amazon Global Selling in Southeast Asia, expressed optimism about the collaboration, citing the extensive global infrastructure and resources of Amazon to support Malaysian brand owners in their journey towards international success.
