Horizon 2023/2024 Launches with Strategic Insights and Global Collaboration

The Ministry of Digital and MDEC have launched Horizon 2023/2024, a publication offering comprehensive insights into Malaysia’s digital economy, while also signing an MoU with the International Trade Centre to enhance digital policy collaboration. The publication provides strategic perspectives for businesses, investors, and society, focusing on emerging digital trends and technologies.


21 August 2024 – The Ministry of Digital, in partnership with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), has unveiled the second edition of Horizon 2023/2024 – A Digital Economy Publication. With the tagline “A Perspective of Malaysia’s Digital Economy,” this publication serves as a comprehensive guide to the country’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. It provides crucial insights and information for both global and local stakeholders who seek accurate data and expert perspectives.

Horizon 2023/2024 stands out as a strategic resource, featuring articles from industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs, and distinguished academics. These contributions offer diverse viewpoints, extending beyond conventional knowledge to present a holistic understanding of Malaysia’s digital economy.

The publication is centered around three core pillars: business, investors, and society. It also delves into thought-provoking topics such as the current state of Malaysia’s digital economy and the future of business transformation through e-invoicing. These discussions are supported by in-depth analysis, insightful commentary, and data-driven research that shed light on the complexities and emerging trends within the digital economy.

Covering a wide array of subjects including Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, e-commerce, fintech, and other emerging technologies, Horizon 2023/2024 aims to connect and engage all relevant stakeholders across industry and society.

In conjunction with the launch, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MDEC and the International Trade Centre (ITC). This partnership is set to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing in various domains, particularly in digital policy advocacy and thought leadership.

The launch event was attended by YB Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Deputy Minister of Digital, and Ts. Mahadhir Aziz, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC.
