11 September 2024 – Shopee Live proved to be a game-changer for Malaysian sellers during the 9.9 Super Shopping Day, driving a remarkable 6.5X increase in sales compared to a typical day. This surge in performance was attributed to a rise in new user traffic and extended engagement times as consumers flocked to interactive live streams featuring exclusive discounts and offers. By offering an engaging and immersive shopping experience, Shopee Live has enabled sellers to connect more deeply with their audience, leading to tangible business growth.

In addition to the sales boost, Shopee Live drove nearly 100 million user interactions throughout the campaign. Popular features such as entertaining hosts, live game shows, and limited-time deals helped amplify user engagement. Notable sellers such as ELGINI Apparel, Momohouse, HYGR, Hollywood Motorsport, and KL Pharmacy emerged as top performers based on order volume during the event.

New sellers who participated in the 9.9 campaign for the first time saw an impressive tenfold sales increase compared to a regular day. This highlights Shopee’s ongoing commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to reach a wider audience and accelerate their business growth.

According to Ming Kit Tan, Head of Marketing and Business Intelligence at Shopee Malaysia, “This 9.9, local entrepreneurs generated over 4X sales growth, driven by high demand in categories like Health & Beauty, Home & Living, and Groceries & Pets.” Popular products during the campaign included foundation makeup, stainless steel thermoses, Muslimah jerseys, power banks, and skincare masks, showcasing the diverse preferences of Malaysian consumers.

While the Klang Valley remains a vital market for Shopee, the platform saw increased participation from other regions, with Johor Bahru, Kinta, Seremban, Kuantan, and Melaka Tengah emerging as top cities in terms of order volume. This reflects Shopee’s ongoing efforts to help local businesses extend their reach across Malaysia.
