Cohesity Expands Google Cloud Partnership to Boost AI-Powered Data Security and Cyber Resilience

Cohesity has deepened its collaboration with Google Cloud to introduce advanced AI-driven solutions that help organizations better detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats. The enhanced partnership aims to strengthen data security, reduce downtime, and unlock powerful insights from enterprise data.

SINGAPORE, 10 APRIL 2025 – Cohesity, a leader in AI-powered data security, has announced an expanded partnership with Google Cloud aimed at helping organizations defend against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. With enterprises incurring an average of $540,000 per hour in downtime during cyber incidents, the need for strong cyber resilience strategies has never been more urgent. The enhanced collaboration between the two companies introduces new solutions designed to help organizations detect threats earlier, respond more effectively to incidents, and recover critical data quickly, significantly minimizing business risk and operational disruption.

The partnership also emphasizes the growing importance of deriving actionable insights from enterprise data. By leveraging AI technologies, the new solutions will empower joint customers to extract greater value from their data, regardless of where it is stored, while improving both visibility and control across cloud and hybrid environments.

To strengthen cybersecurity capabilities, the integration of Google Threat Intelligence with the Cohesity Data Cloud allows organizations to detect threats more rapidly within their backup environments. Backed by a global network of threat experts and insights from over a thousand incident investigations annually, this integration elevates Cohesity’s threat detection and response capabilities. Additionally, Cohesity’s Cyber Events Response Team (CERT) is now working closely with Google’s Mandiant Incident Response unit, enabling a more cohesive approach to managing cyber incidents. While Mandiant focuses on containment, investigation, and mitigation across primary infrastructure, Cohesity ensures that backup systems remain secure and are ready for trusted recovery—helping customers resume operations with minimal delay.

Another key element of the collaboration is the introduction of a Cloud Isolated Recovery Environment (CIRE) in Google Cloud. Cohesity customers can work alongside Mandiant to establish, validate, and secure this environment before a cyber incident occurs. This proactive strategy gives businesses confidence in their ability to restore operations swiftly in the event of a disruption, safeguarding customer trust and reducing the potential long-term impact of cyberattacks.

Furthermore, the integration of Cohesity Data Cloud with Google’s Security Operations platform creates a more comprehensive approach to data protection and threat management. Customers can now leverage the strengths of both platforms to enhance data resiliency and streamline their overall security posture.

Beyond security, the partnership also addresses the challenges of managing and extracting value from ever-growing volumes of data. Cohesity is launching new AI-powered capabilities through integrations with Google Agentspace and Gemini models. By embedding Cohesity’s AI assistant, Gaia, within Google Agentspace, customers can securely analyze and search across enterprise data—no matter where it resides. This reduces costs and complexity while enabling faster, more accurate responses to queries and tasks.

The integration of Google’s Gemini AI models with Cohesity Gaia further enhances the platform’s ability to deliver intelligent data analysis and management. With advanced reasoning and natural language understanding, this capability supports smarter decision-making, improved compliance, and more effective data governance.

Through this expanded partnership, Cohesity and Google Cloud are combining their expertise to deliver a holistic solution that not only strengthens cyber resilience, but also transforms enterprise data into a strategic asset. The joint approach empowers organizations to reduce downtime, recover with confidence, and uncover meaningful insights from their information—driving business continuity and digital transformation forward.
