Jan 5, 2014 (Sun): Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) on Thursday issued an official statement saying that the digital currency Bitcoin is not recognized as legal tender in Malaysia as the Central Bank does not regulate the operations of Bitcoin. BNM is advising the public to be cautious of the risks associated with the usage of Bitcoin in the country.
