August 18, 2014 (Mon): Barracuda Networks, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-connected security and storage solutions, announces that virtual license portability will now be available for several Barracuda virtual products in its security product portfolio.
“Customers will now be able to purchase a virtual license, across premises-based virtual environments including VMware, Citrix and Microsoft, and public cloud deployments in Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure – and transfer that license to other private or public virtual platforms at no additional cost,” explains Thiban Darmalingam, the Regional Manager for Barracuda in Malaysia.
“According to a survey by Tech Pro Research on Hybrid Cloud: Benefits, roadblocks, favoured vendors – 70 percent of respondents said they had implemented or were evaluating a hybrid solution,” he adds.
The report adds that for many, hybrid clouds offer the combination of security, reliability, control and flexibility that they need.
Barracuda’s cloud-connected subscription solutions offer customers flexible deployment options for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The new virtual license portability further simplifies this migration by enabling hybrid cloud deployments across private and public cloud environments, providing the security, reliability, control and flexibility that an organization needs.
“Barracuda is all about giving our customers choices and helping them simplify their IT infrastructure,” says Thiban.
“Our new virtual license portability gives customers deployment flexibility and provides a company with the ability to transfer its virtual license from a public cloud to their private cloud environment, or between public cloud services, offering investment protection,” he ends.
