Access Group Launches Free eInvoicing Feature for UBS Software Ahead of Malaysia’s New Regulations

The Access Group has announced the introduction of eInvoicing for UBS software in Malaysia, aligning with new LHDN regulations starting in August 2024. This feature will be offered free to active UBS users and aims to enhance digital invoicing capabilities while ensuring compliance and efficiency.


28 May 2024 – The Access Group (Access) today announced the rollout of an eInvoicing feature specifically designed for its UBS software, which serves over 100,000 SMEs in Malaysia. This development aligns with the upcoming LHDN regulations set to begin in August 2024 and demonstrates Access’ commitment to digital transformation through substantial investments in infrastructure and software within the APAC region.

Partnerships and Global Expansion

In collaboration with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Access has established a Global Operation Centre (GO Centre) in Kuala Lumpur, reflecting its dedication to enhancing digital capabilities globally from the APAC region. Access has also completed the due diligence assessment for its Peppol-Ready Solution Provider (PRSP) application, pending a final solution demonstration.

Customer-Focused Initiatives

Evan Puzey, General Manager of ERP APAC, emphasized Access’ dedication to customer satisfaction, announcing that the UBS eInvoicing feature will be offered free of charge to active UBS account, billing, and inventory module users, as long as no third-party costs are incurred from government agencies or partners.

Beta Testing and Market Readiness

Access is preparing for the beta testing phase in June with selected customers. Puzey expressed confidence in their ability to support a diverse range of companies, ensuring the solution meets evolving business needs in the region.

With over 100 business partners in Malaysia, Access ensures customers receive top-notch products and services tailored to their requirements. The UBS eInvoicing feature will include functionalities such as:

  • Submission of eInvoices to LHDN via API
  • Status monitoring of eInvoices
  • Approval or rejection before LHDN transmission
  • Invoice modification until validation
  • Compliance with ISO standards
  • PDF invoice generation with QR Codes and Unique Identifier Numbers (UINs)
  • Options for individual, batch, or consolidated invoice sending
  • Self-invoicing from AP invoice entries
  • Email delivery of PDF invoices
  • Automatic storage of PDF invoices with transaction records
  • Transaction management via iAssist
  • Quick retrieval and resending of PDF invoices

Ongoing Educational Efforts

Access has hosted monthly webinars over the past six months, offering insights into the eInvoicing solution and its impact on business compliance. Over 7,000 participants have attended these sessions, ensuring customers are well-prepared for the transition to electronic invoicing.

Security and Compliance Assurance

Access prioritizes the security and integrity of each eInvoice. Validated eInvoices will feature a Unique Identifier Number and a QR Code for verification through the LHDN MyInvois Portal.
