Malaysia (Jul 13, 2013): Jana, a mobile technology company has conducted a survey among 3,000 mobile phone users in emerging markets – India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
The survey found 47.63 per cent of the respondents in Malaysia have purchased something online on a mobile phone while 48.58 per cent have purchased through computer. More than half of Malaysians (50.28%) said prefer to purchase via mobile phone. For payment method, cash still is the preferred method among Malaysian respondents for their online purchases (40.99%), followed by mobile payment (23.53%), credit card (16.89%) and debit card (15.56%).
