Webull Malaysia Launches Cutting-Edge Trading Platform with Zero Commission Trades

Webull Malaysia has launched its advanced global trading platform, offering access to Bursa Securities, Bursa Derivatives, and US-listed stocks and ETFs. The platform aims to democratize investing with advanced tools, educational resources, and zero commission on trades for the first 180 days.

20 May 2024 – Webull Securities (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (“Webull Malaysia”) has announced the launch of its premier global trading platform, Webull, in Malaysia. Designed to cater to investors of all levels, the Webull Malaysia app allows users to trade Bursa Securities, Bursa Derivatives, as well as US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). In April, Webull Malaysia obtained a Capital Markets Services License for Dealing in Securities (restricted to listed securities) and Dealing in Derivatives from the Securities Commission Malaysia.

The introduction of Webull Malaysia aligns with Bursa Malaysia’s initiatives to boost retail investor participation, particularly among younger demographics. As of Q1 2024, retail investor participation in the securities market was 22%, with the derivatives market showing participation rates of 17% for FKLI and 25% for FCPO.

Webull Malaysia’s platform, built on advanced global infrastructure and proprietary technology from Webull, offers a comprehensive suite of features. These include real-time quotes, market information, financial news, industry data, insights, and analyst ratings, all accessible from a single interface. Additionally, the platform includes a Shariah indicator to help investors identify the Shariah-compliance status of stocks before trading.

Kenneth Chan, Chief Executive Officer of Webull Malaysia, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We are excited to introduce Webull’s technologically advanced digital investment platform to the growing investor community in Malaysia. Our platform democratizes investing, providing equal opportunities for all investors regardless of their experience level. By offering best-in-class tools and information, Webull Malaysia empowers investors with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed investment decisions and achieve their financial goals.”

Emphasizing the importance of financial education and literacy, Webull Malaysia incorporates the Learning, Sharing, Investing philosophy through Webull Learn. This feature provides investors with on-demand access to educational resources, including explanations of investment terminology, best practices, and how-to guides. Investors can also practice their trading skills using Paper Trading, an in-platform simulator that allows users to execute trades without real money.

Kenneth Chan highlighted the role of technology in their offerings, stating, “Technology is the core of our business. We are committed to integrating technology with finance to provide secure, reliable, and intelligent products and services. Through advanced trading tools and services, along with top-tier learning resources on the Webull Malaysia platform, we aim to reduce barriers to investing and encourage long-term savings through investment opportunities.”

To celebrate its launch, Webull Malaysia is offering zero commission on tradeable Bursa-listed stocks, US-listed stocks, and ETFs on the Webull app for the first 180 days after opening an account. Additionally, new users can potentially secure five Apple shares through Webull Malaysia’s launch sign-up campaign.
