MALAYSIA, 14 OCTOBER 2026 – TP-Link Distribution Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (TP-Link Malaysia) has expanded its ongoing initiative to nurture local technology talent by entering into a strategic partnership with Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah (UniSHAMS). The collaboration aims to cultivate a sustainable talent pipeline to support the growing digital requirements of the nation.
Formalised through a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the agreement aligns academic curricula with actual industry needs. The initiative provides UniSHAMS students and faculty members with direct access to industry expertise, practical training modules, and collaborative research opportunities in technical fields of mutual interest.
Under the terms of the agreement, students will participate in practical workshops, short courses, and structured internship programmes designed to supplement traditional classroom learning. Furthermore, TP-Link Malaysia is introducing its Omada enterprise networking technologies and the Omada Certified Network Associate (OCNA) certification pathway to the campus, offering students industry-recognised qualifications alongside their academic studies.
Regional Director of TP-Link Malaysia, Hugo Cai, emphasized that scaling technology talent requires continuous, structured collaboration across educational institutions to keep pace with rapid technological advancements in the private sector.
UniSHAMS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Amy Azhar bin Dato’ Haji Mohd Harif, noted that the joint effort will enhance graduate employability by fostering adaptability, practical skill sets, and continuous learning abilities beyond standard academic boundaries.
The initiative marks another step in TP-Link Malaysia’s broader academic network expansion, which focuses on strengthening the country’s foundational digital infrastructure through workforce readiness and academic-industry synergy.
