Tapway Unveils SamurAI, A No-Code Vision AI Platform Revolutionizing Video and Image Analytic

Tapway Sdn. Bhd. has launched SamurAI, a Vision AI platform that allows organizations to analyze video and image data without coding, transforming it into actionable insights. The platform is bolstered by a partnership with Asteria Technology and a listing on the AWS Marketplace, marking Tapway’s expansion into Southeast Asia and Japan.

15 August 2024 – Tapway Sdn. Bhd. has unveiled its latest innovation, SamurAI, a cutting-edge Vision AI platform designed to help organizations analyze video footage and images, transforming raw data into actionable insights without the need for coding. SamurAI is highly versatile, suitable for a range of applications including policy compliance enforcement, product quality inspection in manufacturing, health, safety, and environment (HSE) monitoring in warehouses, product counting and classification in plantations, vehicle tracking, and hygiene compliance in restaurants.

The platform introduces two core products: SamurAI Copilot and SamurAI Central. SamurAI Copilot comes with a variety of pre-built Vision AI models that can be easily integrated with CCTV cameras, enabling immediate AI-triggered event detection. On the other hand, SamurAI Central empowers users to create and train their own Vision AI models without requiring any coding expertise.

In conjunction with the launch, Tapway announced a strategic partnership with Asteria Technology Pte. Ltd., a leader in no-code software development. This collaboration aims to co-develop an AIoT Suite product bundle that integrates camera and IoT sensor technologies for smart action triggers. This partnership represents a significant step forward in Tapway’s expansion strategy, particularly in Southeast Asia and Japan, where Asteria is headquartered.

“More organizations are using cameras for security surveillance or operational monitoring, but often, raw video footage and images don’t offer much value without proper analysis,” said Lim Chee How, CEO of Tapway. “SamurAI turns passive, underutilized CCTV cameras into sources of actionable insights, delivering instant value to organizations. This automated approach simplifies and accelerates AI adoption, making it more accessible and affordable.”

SamurAI offers a range of ready-to-use models for various applications, including monitoring production line quality, identifying vehicles on roads, counting oil palm fruits, and ensuring PPE compliance in factories and construction sites. The platform is currently available to customers in Malaysia and Southeast Asia through subscription packages starting at just USD 25 per month.

In a notable achievement, Tapway has become the first Malaysian Independent Software Vendor (ISV) to have its SamurAI Central software listed on the AWS Marketplace. This listing enables customers to effortlessly train and deploy Vision AI solutions.

“Tapway is committed to empowering more companies across Southeast Asia to embrace Vision AI,” added Chee How. “Our strategic alliance with Asteria and our presence on the AWS Marketplace are key steps in realizing this mission.”
