MALAYSIA, 3 NOVEMBER 2026 – Global payment and treasury management platform Sunrate has entered into a strategic collaboration with travel technology and software specialist Netstorming, announced during the World Travel Market London 2026. The alliance aims to expand payment flexibility for travel enterprises navigating complex cross-border procurement workflows, a key advantage for outward-looking operators including those in Malaysia and the broader ASEAN travel market.
Under the partnership, Sunrate Cards will integrate directly into Netstorming’s technological network. This will allow qualified travel businesses, tour agencies, and hotel consolidators to leverage Sunrate Cards when settling payments with overseas accommodation providers, airlines, and transport suppliers.
Tailored specifically for international commercial activities, Sunrate Cards feature customisable expenditure parameters, strengthened security controls, and live tracking of all financial transactions. Additionally, the platform allows multi-currency settlement spanning more than 16 currencies, mitigating foreign exchange frictions and administrative overheads typically associated with conventional international bank transfers.
Sunrate co-founder and chief executive officer Paul Meng highlighted that the initiative reflects ongoing shifts in travel technology, adding that the company aims to deliver smarter and more cohesive payment tools, including modern developments such as its newly introduced Agentic Card. He noted that uniting payment capabilities with Netstorming’s software infrastructure brings innovative financial tools directly to operators managing worldwide bookings.
Paul Batchelor, head of business development for Europe at Sunrate, stated that global travel requires agile and modernized payment systems. He pointed out that combining Netstorming’s travel network with Sunrate’s transaction architecture provides travel companies with a dependable, scalable method to disburse funds to global suppliers.
Netstorming chief executive officer and co-founder Nicola Rizzardini explained that their partner ecosystem will benefit directly from greater payment flexibility and wider distribution avenues. He emphasized that bridging Netstorming’s software with Sunrate’s treasury platform will reinforce commercial links across the international tourism supply chain.
The move marks another step in Sunrate’s ongoing integration within travel technology, supplementing its existing suites that include card issuance, foreign exchange hedging, cross-border collections, merchant acquiring, and comprehensive treasury solutions.
