Energy Market Authority has announced “Connecting Energy Systems, Powering Tomorrow” as the theme for Singapore International Energy Week 2026, focusing on global energy security and sustainability. The expanded event will bring together policymakers and industry leaders to address rising demand, supply disruptions, and decarbonisation.
SINGAPORE, 28 MARCH 2026 – The Energy Market Authority (EMA) has unveiled the theme for the 19th edition of Singapore International Energy Week 2026 (SIEW), set to take place from 26 to 30 October in Singapore. Centred on “Connecting Energy Systems, Powering Tomorrow,” the event aims to drive global dialogue on building resilient, interconnected, and sustainable energy systems.
SIEW 2026 comes at a time of mounting global energy challenges. Ongoing geopolitical tensions, including the Middle East conflict, have disrupted fuel supply chains and driven up oil and gas prices. At the same time, global electricity demand continues to surge, fuelled by electrification, industrial growth, and the rapid expansion of data centres, while the urgency to decarbonise remains critical.
The event will highlight key enablers for long-term energy security, including regional grid integration and cross-border collaboration. Discussions will also explore emerging low-carbon solutions such as advanced nuclear technologies, biomethane, geothermal energy, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS).
According to EMA Chief Executive Puah Kok Keong, the current global landscape underscores the fragility of energy systems and the need for stronger collaboration to ensure secure, affordable, and sustainable energy supply. The event also coincides with EMA’s 25th anniversary, reinforcing its commitment to shaping the region’s energy future.
In response to the growing complexity of the energy landscape, the SIEW Summit will be expanded into a two-day programme. It will incorporate key forums in partnership with leading global organisations, including the International Energy Agency (IEA), International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), covering areas such as renewable energy development and nuclear readiness.
Additional features this year include networking receptions, expert-led platforms such as SIEW Energy Insights and TechTable, and specialised roundtables addressing policy, market, and technology developments.
Beyond the main summit, SIEWConnects will extend engagement to global energy hubs including Australia, China, and the United States, strengthening international collaboration ahead of the main event.
A series of partner events will further enrich the programme, including the Asia Clean Energy Summit, Asia Gas Markets Conference, Future of the Grid, and Ammonia & Carbon Capture Asia. These sessions will address critical topics such as LNG market dynamics, grid modernisation, sustainable fuels, and the increasing energy demands driven by artificial intelligence and data centre expansion.
SIEW 2026 is expected to serve as a key global platform for advancing energy innovation, policy alignment, and cross-border cooperation, as nations and industries work toward a more secure and sustainable energy future.
