Sprooki, Asia’s first location-based mobile commerce services specifically designed for malls and retailers, received another round of seed funding of SGD0.59 million (RM1.47 million) from incubator Get2Volume and Singapore’s National Research Foundation’s Technology Incubator Scheme (TIS). To date, total funding taken by Sprooki is SGD1.00 million (RM2.49 million).
Founded in February 2011, Sprooki is a customizable mobile applications and hosted web-based campaign management system that allows shoppers can buy anywhere, redeeming instantly and securely at the retail outlet. Based on shoppers’ buying behavior, the system will send targeted messages to them, such as receive a message from nearby retailers when they pass by or enter the mall.
313@somerset, an iconic Orchard Road shopping mall is the first shopping mall started to collaborate with Sprooki in October 2011 and it resulted more than 35,000 product offers were viewed and experienced double-digit mobile sales conversion within four weeks. This good result has made 313@somerset be the first to license the technology under its own brand.
