2 May 2024 – Shutterstock, Inc., a leading global creative platform, has announced its definitive agreement to acquire Envato Pty Ltd. (“Envato”), a prominent provider of digital creative assets and templates. With this acquisition, Shutterstock aims to enhance its offerings by incorporating Envato’s flagship product, Elements, into its portfolio, providing customers with unlimited access to a wide range of creative content.

Envato, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Australia with a presence in Mexico and New Zealand, is renowned for its platform that enables millions worldwide to buy and sell creative assets, utilize design templates, and acquire creative skills. The company’s Elements subscription offers unlimited downloads of various assets, templates, and more, facilitating efficient and effective completion of creative projects.
Paul Hennessy, CEO of Shutterstock, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating that Envato’s subscription model aligns with growing customer demands for diverse creative content types.
