Jan 6, 2014 (Mon): Shopify is introducing Shopify Mobile, a mobile app for merchants to sell products and manage their store anywhere, whether it’s online, in-store or on-the-go.
If the merchants are using Shopify Payments, they can use free card reader from Shopify to accept cash or credit card payments from directly inside the mobile app. It just works as cash register right to the customers and benefits merchants who sell in flea markets, trade shows or pop-up stores. Once payment is accepted, the merchants can send custom email receipts to their customers and their inventory will be automatically updated across the entire Shopify platform. Currently, this feature only limited to U.S. merchants and Shopify is working to expand its availability to other regions soon.
Shopify Mobile also allows merchants using phone to fulfil orders, contact customers and update key areas of their store like product info and prices and the data will automatically synced between Shopify Mobile, online store and Shopify POS system.
