Seoul Conference on Cyberspace 2013 in South Korea

Oct 18, 2013 (Fri): The Seoul Conference on Cyberspace 2013 was kicked off in Convention and Exhibition Centre, Seoul yesterday. This two-day event is the third such conference after London in 2011 and Budapest, Hungary in 2013. About 40 ministers and deputy ministers and representatives from the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) were reported attending the event, according to Bernama.

The conference themed as “Global Prosperity through an Open and Secure Cyberspace: Opportunities, Threats and Cooperation” is organised by the South Korean Foreign Ministry and aimed to achieve greater diversification of participating countries, enhancing awareness of cyber issues, and strengthening the private-public partnership among others.
