Razorpay Curlec has introduced Apple Pay support in Malaysia, enabling merchants to offer one-tap biometric payments across Apple devices. The integration has already driven a 10% uplift in successful transactions and checkout success rates of up to 95% within its first month.

MALAYSIA, 4 MARCH 2026 – Despite Malaysia’s fast-growing digital economy, checkout complexity continues to hinder online sales, with average cart abandonment rates rising to 70.19% in 2025 from 69.99% in 2022. Industry players say simplifying online card payments remains a key opportunity to improve conversion rates and transaction success.

In response, Razorpay Curlec has announced the launch of Apple Pay support, enabling merchants nationwide to offer faster and more secure one-tap payments. The integration allows customers to complete transactions using Face ID or Touch ID across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.

By integrating with Apple Pay, Malaysian businesses can now accept both local and international payments through Visa and Mastercard cards already stored in Apple Wallet. The solution replaces traditional multi-step card entry with a streamlined, frictionless checkout experience designed to reduce drop-offs at the payment stage.

According to Kevin Lee, Country Head and CEO of Razorpay Curlec, delivering seamless payment experiences is critical as Malaysia accelerates its digital transformation. He noted that within just one month of enabling Apple Pay, merchants recorded a 10% increase in successful transactions, with payment success rates climbing to as high as 95%, alongside significantly improved checkout conversion rates.

The integration connects Malaysian merchants to Apple Pay’s global ecosystem spanning 89 markets and over 11,000 banks, allowing them to serve both domestic and cross-border customers with a single-tap payment standard.

Apple Pay via Razorpay Curlec is supported by major financial institutions including AmBank, Hong Leong Bank, HSBC, Maybank, RHB Bank Berhad, Standard Chartered Bank and Wise Payments Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.. Supported card networks include Visa, Mastercard and American Express, depending on the issuing bank.

With biometric authentication and tokenised security built into Apple Pay, merchants benefit from faster checkouts and higher conversion rates compared to conventional card payment flows. The launch reinforces Razorpay Curlec’s ambition to make digital transactions effortless for businesses of all sizes, from social sellers to listed enterprises, while advancing Malaysia’s vision of a cashless and inclusive economy.
