Sept 4, 2013 (Wed): The global Internet giant Rakuten Inc. has announced that its acquisition of Viki, a global video streaming platform to strengthen Rakuten’s digital content offerings business.
Viki, founded in December 2010, is a global TV site powered by a volunteer community of avid fans and now has tens of millions of users every month watching and sharing TV shows, movies, music videos and other premium content from around the world, translated into more than 160 languages.
