The 13th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia with iProperty has issued its final call for entries ahead of the 29 May 2026 deadline, spotlighting an expanded category lineup that reflects Malaysia’s growing stature as a diversified ASEAN real estate hub. This year’s edition introduces new developer titles, ESG-focused accolades, and a landmark gala ceremony set for 2 October 2026 in Kuala Lumpur.

MALAYSIA, 25 MAY 2026 – The 13th PropertyGuru Asia Awards Malaysia with iProperty is entering its final stretch, urging developers, designers, and real estate professionals across the country to submit their entries before the 29 May 2026 deadline.

This year’s edition marks a significant evolution in the awards programme, both in scope and industry recognition. Lim Soh & Goonting Advocates & Solicitors has been welcomed as the Lead Legal Advisor for the awards, a partnership that underscores the growing importance of legal expertise, governance, and compliance in Malaysia’s increasingly complex real estate landscape.

As part of the broader PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series — one of the most prestigious real estate recognition platforms across the Asia-Pacific — the 2026 Malaysia edition will benchmark excellence across residential, commercial, township, design, and ESG-driven developments.

Jules Kay, General Manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, noted that Malaysia has demonstrated resilience against global headwinds, with momentum now shifting into sectors that were not prominent in earlier conversations. The country has emerged as a logistics hub supporting supply chain diversification, and its emerging asset classes are forming new pillars of demand alongside a stable residential base. This expanding profile, he said, is setting Malaysia apart as a dependable investment destination within ASEAN.

The 2026 category lineup reflects this broader market reality. New developer titles — including Best Condo Developer, Best Landed Homes Developer, and Best Master Developer — recognise achievement at both project and portfolio levels. The High Rise and Landed segments have been reinforced with Best First Home and Best International categories, addressing affordability, accessibility, and cross-border appeal. Township entries can now compete under Best Resort Style Township and Best Destination Development, while Best Landmark Development honours projects that define cityscapes and commercial hubs.

ESG considerations have also taken centre stage. Three new accolades — Sustainable Living Champion, Responsible Construction Champion, and Community Impact Champion — will honour developers demonstrating genuine environmental stewardship and positive community outcomes. Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, chairperson of the judging panel and former president of the Malaysian Institute of Architects, welcomed this shift, describing sustainability as increasingly being treated as a design discipline rather than a compliance checklist.

Complementing the judged categories, the People’s Choice Awards will return, inviting the public to vote for the Top 10 Developers in Malaysia. The 2025 edition drew over 20,000 public votes, reflecting strong consumer engagement with the programme.

The gala dinner and awards presentation will take place on 2 October 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, with Malaysian winners subsequently advancing to the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok on 11 December 2026.

Key dates to note are as follows: entries close on 29 May 2026; People’s Choice Awards voting runs from 18 to 30 June 2026; Live Judging Days are scheduled from 30 June to 2 July 2026; the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony will be held on 2 October 2026 in Kuala Lumpur; and the Regional Grand Final Gala Dinner takes place on 11 December 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
