Paydibs Gains Direct PayNet Access to Strengthen DuitNow QR Payment Infrastructure for Malaysian Merchants

Malaysian payment gateway Paydibs has secured direct participant status with Payments Network Malaysia for DuitNow QR acceptance, upgrading its infrastructure to offer merchants faster settlements, better cost efficiencies, and unified access to real-time payment rails. The move reinforces Paydibs’ merchant-first strategy amid Malaysia’s rapid growth in QR-based digital payments.

MALAYSIA, 13 MAY 2026 – Paydibs Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s merchant-first payment gateway, has officially onboarded as a direct participant with Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) for DuitNow QR (DNQR) acceptance, marking a significant upgrade to its payment infrastructure.

The direct integration builds on Paydibs’ existing third-party DNQR arrangements and its earlier direct connection with FPX (Financial Process Exchange), giving the company a strengthened position as a merchant acquirer within the national payments ecosystem. Merchants now have unified access to both online banking via FPX and QR payments via DNQR through a single platform.

The milestone comes at a time when QR-based payments are rapidly becoming mainstream in Malaysia. Over 3 million merchants nationwide now accept QR payments, with more than 680,000 new DuitNow QR touchpoints added in 2025 alone. Total digital payment volumes reached 8.44 billion transactions in 2025, placing Malaysia among the world’s leading adopters of QR payments.

Direct participation with PayNet unlocks several operational advantages. Paydibs can now offer faster settlement cycles, improved cost efficiencies, and greater control over transaction processing. For merchants, this translates into better cash flow visibility and quicker access to funds. The dynamic QR functionality further enhances transaction security while ensuring a seamless checkout experience.

Tee Kean Kang, Chief Executive Officer of Paydibs, described the integration as a reflection of the company’s long-term commitment to the merchant community. By connecting directly with PayNet for DuitNow QR, he noted, Paydibs can deliver faster settlements, greater operational control, and simplified payment acceptance across banks and eWallets through one unified platform.

The development complements Paydibs’ earlier launch of Paydibs NEO, described as Malaysia’s first all-in-one smart terminal combining QR, card, and Buy Now Pay Later capabilities in a single device. Together, these initiatives reflect a broader strategy of deepening national payment rail connectivity while keeping merchant needs at the centre.

Paydibs says it remains aligned with Bank Negara Malaysia and PayNet’s goals to accelerate digital payment adoption among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). With strengthened multi-rail capabilities now in place, the company says it is positioned to support domestic digital payment expansion and prepare merchants for upcoming enhancements within the national payment ecosystem.
