Palo Alto Networks has unveiled new quantum-ready security solutions, including post-quantum cryptography hardware and automated cloud network defenses, enabling enterprises to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats. The innovations mark a major step toward crypto-agility in a multicloud and AI-driven landscape.
MALAYSIA, 18 AUGUST 2025 – Palo Alto Networks, a global leader in cybersecurity, has announced groundbreaking advancements designed to prepare enterprises for the quantum era and safeguard complex cloud and AI environments.
The company introduced a comprehensive suite of tools that empower organizations to assess, upgrade, and future-proof their security infrastructure. Key innovations include:
- Quantum Readiness Dashboard: Provides Next-Generation Firewall and Secure Access Service Edge customers full visibility and control over cryptographic risk posture.
- Cipher Translation Technology: Instantly upgrades applications lacking native quantum-safe encryption, making them resistant to quantum attacks.
- Quantum-Optimized Hardware: A new lineup of 14 fifth-generation Next-Generation Firewall models that deliver high-performance processing for post-quantum cryptography.
Anand Oswal, SVP and GM of Network Security at Palo Alto Networks, said the quantum threat to encryption is no longer theoretical and requires immediate action. He emphasized that the company’s latest innovations allow customers to accelerate their journey to becoming quantum safe, proactively securing their most critical assets against emerging threats.
Industry experts have praised this move. Pete Finalle, Research Manager at IDC, highlighted Palo Alto Networks’ “crypto agility” as a critical differentiator, citing its automated, scalable firewall deployment and native microsegmentation capabilities for addressing blind spots in complex multicloud environments.
The platform also introduces Cloud Network and AI Risk Assessment, which continuously scans cloud and AI assets for weak protections, automatically deploying software firewalls and configuring secure multicloud networking. This eliminates reliance on additional point products while ensuring traffic is dynamically protected.
Organizations such as the NBA and Sabre have endorsed the update. NBA Senior Manager Mehdi Lahrech noted its ability to secure fan engagement and real-time analytics at scale, while Sabre CISO Scott Moser praised Palo Alto Networks as a trusted partner in navigating quantum and AI-driven security challenges.
These capabilities will be delivered through PAN-OS 12.1 Orion, available as a software upgrade.
