14 December 2023 – OPPO has announced the winners of the OPPO ColorOSHack 2023 competition during the Final Event held in Kuala Lumpur. The top three teams were recognized for their innovations and contributions in line with the theme “Pantanal Service: Empowering Lives with Intelligence.” The competition, focusing on the Asia-Pacific region and spanning 150 days, attracted over 200 participants from more than 50 countries.

Nicole Zhang, General Manager of Software Innovation Center at OPPO, expressed gratitude for the global developer support and emphasized that the intelligent products presented so far are just the beginning. Zhang highlighted the company’s commitment to collaborating with developers worldwide to create services that deeply understand users and intelligently respond to their needs.

This year’s ColorOSHack competition concentrated on three key scenarios: daily life, transportation, and entertainment. Participants were tasked with utilizing the Pantanal Platform, introduced in ColorOS 14, to develop smart services catering to these scenarios. The Pantanal Platform’s capabilities, such as Aqua Dynamics, streamline service development by automatically adapting for various devices, including phones, tablets, earbuds, and automotive head units. OPPO provides comprehensive resources, including tutorials, guides, and a development framework, to support developers in mastering Pantanal.

The competition showcased the increasing strength of global innovation, with over 200 participants from diverse regions participating in the development of solutions addressing various scenarios, such as navigation, payment, social interaction, study, and health.

The winning project, “NavOpp,” by the Malaysian team End2End, secured the first-place position. It is a transportation and payment app that offers cross-device support, leveraging Pantanal’s context-detection capabilities to streamline information and services. The app aims to enhance daily commutes and business trips, making services more scalable and efficient.

OPPO’s ColorOSHack 2023, with a focus on core scenarios and upgraded developer services, provided a platform for global developers. The Pantanal Developer Services simplified the development process by abstracting the complexities of underlying hardware. Looking ahead, OPPO ColorOS remains dedicated to fostering innovation, providing a foundation for developers to showcase their creations and bringing a smarter life to its user base of 600 million ColorOS users.
