MYDCF 2024 Returns: Malaysia’s Premier Digital Content Festival Set to Elevate Gaming, Animation, and Creative Tech

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) announces the return of MYDCF 2024, a premier event celebrating Malaysia’s digital content. The festival, divided into Public Day and Biz Day, will feature diverse activities, including gaming, animation, esports, and creative technology showcases.


3 September 2024 – The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) is delighted to announce the much-anticipated return of the Malaysia Digital Content Festival (MYDCF) 2024. This prestigious event, set to take place in September and October, will highlight the finest digital content created by Malaysians and the broader regional community.

MYDCF 2024 will be divided into two key segments to cater to diverse audiences. The first segment, Public Day, will be held from September 13th to 15th at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, occupying Halls 1 to 7. Branded as LEVEL UP PLAY and CREATORS XPO KL, this segment promises a unique experience for creators, animation enthusiasts, gamers, and industry professionals alike. With over 30,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors expected, MYDCF 2024 is set to be the ultimate platform for networking, collaboration, and celebration of Malaysia’s vibrant digital content landscape.

During Public Day, LEVEL UP PLAY 2024 will offer an immersive experience in digital content, featuring games, animation, digital comics, trading card games (TCG), and esports. The event will also showcase a digital exhibition of leading creators and innovators from Malaysia and beyond. Indie game enthusiasts can anticipate a showcase of upcoming titles from developers across the globe, including Malaysia, the USA, Australia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, and other Southeast Asian nations.

Additionally, the Bushiroad Expo 2024 will feature large-scale TCG competitions, including popular titles like Cardfight!! Vanguard and Shadowverse EVOLVE. Esports fans can enjoy thrilling local and international events, such as the ACER Predator League 2024, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Junior Cup 2024, and the International E-Racing Championship. The excitement will be further amplified by live performances from renowned artists, with special appearances by international singers and celebrities from Sacra Music, Kadokawa, and Hololive.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase exclusive toys and merchandise from popular franchises at special prices. The event will be packed with engaging activities, allowing visitors to collect points, redeem prizes, and enjoy a variety of entertainment options.

The Public Day at MYDCF 2024 will feature a vibrant lineup of activities, including an animation mascot parade and stage performances, international entertainment shows with exclusive meet-and-greet sessions, a variety of esports activities, a mini education fair, and a Digital Game Orchestra (DGO) performance. This event is a must-attend for all digital content enthusiasts.

New to MYDCF this year is CREATORS XPO KL, a platform dedicated to showcasing the work of individual digital content creators. This initiative will highlight their contributions and complement both endemic and non-endemic brands during Public Day. The MyDigitalMaker initiative will also be hosted at the venue, targeting 15,000 visitors, primarily school students, to inspire the next generation of digital creators.

Xsolla LEVEL UP KL, now in its 10th year, is Southeast Asia’s premier game developers’ conference, bringing together developers, publishers, and key stakeholders to celebrate the gaming industry’s achievements and innovations. Kre8tif! will provide a platform to showcase Malaysia’s top animation and intellectual property, reinforcing the country’s status as a major player in the global animation scene.
