MYANMAR: According to the Myanmar Payment Union (MPU) committee chairman Ye Min Oo, MPU is planning to join banking networks in other countries to allow holders of MPU banking cards can be accepted internationally.
Recently the committee has signed deals with China Union Pay (CUP) and the Japan Credit Bureau to allow their bank cards to withdraw cash in local currency at ATMs in Myanmar. MPU is calling for more card companies to join its network.
