ICT opportunities for Malaysian IT companies in Myanmar

Tue, Jun 25, 2013: Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will organize a 4-day ICT mission to help local Malaysian companies to tap the opportunities of ICT in Myanmar. According to market researcher International Data Corporation, IT spending in Myanmar is expected to reach USD233.56 million (RM752.42 million) by 2016, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16 per cent over the forecast period between 2011 and 2016.

With new ICT laws being drafted and initiatives by the Myanmar government to engage more foreign investment, the time is right for Malaysian IT firms to participate in the country’s economic growth and position themselves early in the market as the preferred IT partners. Therefore, MATRADE will bring Malaysian IT firms who keen to do business in Myanmar on August 19, 2013 to seek business opportunities in various fields of ICT including ICT infrastructure, e-government, healthcare, banking and finance, e-education and other ICT solutions. For more info about the mission, please visit MATRADE’s website at www.matrade.gov.my.
