MINISO Sets New Malaysia Record for Most Intellectual Property Merchandise

MINISO has set a new record in Malaysia for the “Most Intellectual Property Rights Merchandise,” with 4,616 new products across 86 IPs. The brand’s commitment to innovation and strategic partnerships has solidified its position as a leader in the lifestyle retail market.


15 August 2024 – On August 10th, MINISO, a global lifestyle brand, achieved a significant milestone by being recognized in the Malaysia Book of Records for having the “Most Intellectual Property Rights Merchandise.” This accolade highlights MINISO’s impressive collection of 4,616 new products across 86 intellectual properties (IPs), showcasing its extensive range of officially licensed products. These items span various categories, including electronics, accessories, toys, beauty products, household goods, toiletries, and fragrances.

Since its inception in 1995, the Malaysia Book of Records has celebrated extraordinary achievements across the nation, inspiring Malaysians to strive for excellence. The recognition of MINISO underscores the brand’s commitment to innovation and quality in the Malaysian market.

Malaysian consumers have shown a strong preference for unique IP products, with popular brands like Barbie, Disney, Zanmang Loopy, BT21, Snoopy, and Minions leading the way. MINISO has been a key player in this trend, introducing over 70 officially licensed IP products to the Malaysian market since 2023. The brand consistently delivers more than 1,000 new SKUs each month, maintaining an impressive inventory of approximately 20,000 items.

The official certificate commemorating this achievement was presented to Christopher Wong D.J.N, CEO of MINISO Malaysia, at the newly opened Zanmang Loopy-themed IP collection store in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, a premier shopping destination in Malaysia. The store, which features a comprehensive range of IP-themed products and delightful Loopy decorations, further enhances MINISO’s presence in the market.

Bella Tu, Vice President and General Manager of MINISO Overseas Directly Operated Markets, emphasized the brand’s dedication to delivering value through its “Joy Philosophy,” introduced by founder and CEO Ye Guofu in 2020. “Intellectual Property (IP) plays a crucial role in delivering emotional value to our customers,” she said. “By forming strategic partnerships with globally renowned IPs, we have made our products more appealing to younger audiences and enhanced our competitiveness in the market.
