MCash has become a direct participant in PayNet, enabling its users to access DuitNow QR payments and DuitNow transfers nationwide. The move strengthens interoperability within Malaysia’s digital payment ecosystem while expanding payment acceptance and financial accessibility.

MALAYSIA, 16 MARCH 2026 – MRuncit Commerce Sdn Bhd (MCash), one of Malaysia’s longest-standing homegrown e-wallet providers, has announced its direct participation in Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet), allowing users to access DuitNow QR payments and DuitNow Transfer services across the country.

The milestone marks a significant shift in MCash’s strategic direction, transitioning from a primarily proprietary digital wallet ecosystem into a fully integrated participant within Malaysia’s national payment infrastructure. By connecting directly to PayNet, the company aims to enhance interoperability, scalability, and broader digital financial access for users nationwide.

Through the integration, MCash users can now utilize DuitNow QR, Malaysia’s unified QR payment standard, to make payments at millions of merchant locations nationwide using a single QR code. This removes previous limitations that restricted transactions to MCash-supported merchants, enabling users to pay seamlessly at participating banks, e-wallets, and retailers that accept DuitNow QR.

In addition, DuitNow Transfer allows users to conduct instant peer-to-peer and business transfers using mobile numbers or bank account details, improving the efficiency and speed of digital fund movements for both consumers and merchants.

According to MCash Chief Executive Officer Tee Kean Kang, DuitNow QR has become a core component of Malaysia’s digital payment ecosystem, making interoperability increasingly essential as the digital economy continues to grow. By joining PayNet as a direct participant, MCash strengthens its ability to deliver secure and real-time payment services while positioning itself as a fully connected player within the country’s national payment framework.

Malaysia’s DuitNow QR network currently supports more than 2.5 million merchant touchpoints across the country, ranging from small neighbourhood businesses and street vendors to major retail chains. The growing ecosystem has played a key role in accelerating cashless adoption and improving digital payment connectivity across communities.

Beyond enhancing everyday payment convenience, the integration also contributes to Malaysia’s broader digital transformation agenda. As the nation prepares for economic and tourism initiatives such as Visit Malaysia 2026, interoperable payment infrastructure will be critical in ensuring seamless payment experiences for both local users and international visitors.

MCash views its participation in PayNet as a foundation for further innovation, reinforcing its long-term mission to deliver inclusive digital financial services that connect users more closely to Malaysia’s evolving financial ecosystem.

Users can access the new services by downloading or updating the MCash mobile application to enable DuitNow QR payments and DuitNow Transfer.
