Mastercard has launched the global expansion of Receivables Manager and introduced Commercial Direct Payments to streamline B2B virtual card processing and reconciliation. These innovations aim to eliminate manual processes and enhance efficiency, security, and scalability for businesses worldwide.
MALAYSIA, 30 JULY 2025 – Mastercard is doubling down on its commitment to modernizing B2B payments with the global rollout of Receivables Manager and the debut of Commercial Direct Payments, a powerful straight-through processing solution. These tools are designed to eliminate manual steps in virtual card payments, making them more efficient, secure, and scalable for both buyers and suppliers.
Receivables Manager, now available worldwide, is an automated solution that enhances virtual card acceptance for businesses. Since its launch just two years ago, the tool has evolved with features like multi-language support and secure card-on-file capabilities to facilitate digital commerce globally. Major acquiring partners such as Elavon, Run Payments in the U.S., and EazyPay in Bahrain have already adopted the solution to help businesses streamline their accounts receivable processes.
Meanwhile, Commercial Direct Payments introduces a network-agnostic, straight-through processing approach that fully automates virtual card payments. When a buyer initiates payment, the funds are transferred directly to the supplier’s account while remittance data is integrated seamlessly into ERP systems—eliminating the need for manual reconciliation. This results in smoother workflows, faster payments, and stronger buyer-supplier relationships.
“With many businesses turning to virtual cards to meet rising expectations for fast, simple, and secure transactions, these innovations empower them to digitize and modernize with confidence,” said Marc Pettican, global head of corporate solutions at Mastercard.
A recent global Mastercard survey reveals that 93% of B2B suppliers consider digitizing payment processes a top priority, yet two-thirds admit to consistently falling short of buyer expectations. With the introduction of these enhanced tools, Mastercard aims to close that gap and lead the future of digitized commercial payments.
Commercial Direct Payments is initially available in the U.S., with Sakon as its first launch customer. Mastercard plans to scale the offering globally as more payment service providers seek modern solutions for B2B payment processing.
