Through key global ecosystem partnerships with platforms including Alipay+ and TNG Digital, the initiative expands cross-border financial access and connects digital wallets to millions of acceptance locations globally.

AUSTRALIA, 10 SEPTEMBER 2026 – Payment technology leader Mastercard has announced the launch of Mastercard Wallet Pay, a global portfolio of solutions created to enhance interoperability and innovation across digital wallets, supporting near-field communication (NFC), QR codes, and online digital channels.

With global digital wallet adoption serving over 4.3 billion users and projected to surpass 6 billion by 2030, the new platform provides wallet providers with infrastructure to deliver unified user experiences spanning everyday domestic purchases to cross-border transfers. The initiative connects e-wallets directly to Mastercard’s network of acceptance points worldwide without requiring significant structural overhauls from participating wallet operators.

Mastercard is rolling out the platform through collaborative arrangements with major digital payment service providers globally, including Ant International global gateway Alipay+ and its network of partner wallets, alongside regional operators such as Axian, CRED, DaviPlata, Mercado Pago, MTN, and TenPay Global.

Chief Product Officer at Mastercard, Jorn Lambert, stated that digital wallets act as primary gateways to the broader digital economy and financial services. He noted that through the Wallet Pay platform, Mastercard aims to strengthen user experience and cross-platform interoperability, delivering scale and security for businesses and consumers alike.

The global infrastructure enables smooth cross-border transfers across more than 200 countries and territories in 150 currencies, while supporting wallet providers in launching dedicated card issuance programs. Among regional partners, TNG Digital Chief Executive Officer Alan Ni highlighted that the collaboration extends the usability of TNG eWallet beyond Malaysia, enabling Malaysian travellers to transact abroad using their native e-wallet while allowing international visitors to pay effortlessly when visiting Malaysia.
