MALAYSIA, 15 OCTOBER 2026 – Global payments network Mastercard and stablecoin infrastructure developer BVNK have officially launched the Mastercard Global Money Platform, delivering a unified single-API infrastructure that bridges traditional fiat currencies with digital stablecoins. The announcement marks the first major commercial integration following Mastercard acquiring BVNK in August 2026.
Designed as a full-stack, modular financial infrastructure layer, the new platform enables financial institutions, fintech platforms, and enterprise businesses to embed multi-currency capabilities directly into their consumer and business offerings. Through a single API connection, organizations can issue multi-currency accounts holding fiat and stablecoins side by side, provide real-time conversions, manage treasury activity, and launch stablecoin-linked cards.
The solution directly targets operational bottlenecks faced by cross-border commercial enterprises, such as managing fragmented bank accounts, holding pre-funded capital balances in multiple jurisdictions, and navigating delayed settlement windows. By bringing liquidity management into one interface, businesses can streamline international receivables, convert funds dynamically, and execute payouts efficiently.
Early adopting partners integrating the architecture include payments company Nuvei, card issuing platform Marqeta, as well as fintech operators Ontop, Bolt Group, and Almond FinTech. The launch further incorporates Mastercard Move, expanding global payout options directly into recipient bank accounts across international jurisdictions, with operational coverage expanding to more than 40 currencies across over 200 countries and territories by 2027.
Additionally, cardholders will be able to spend stablecoin balances across Mastercard’s global merchant network, supported by card issuing programs across more than 130 countries. The underlying architecture is structured to support future financial technologies, including agentic commerce models and tokenized bank deposits.
