Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) are leading a delegation of 16 Malaysian gaming and creative content companies to Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2023, aiming to strengthen partnerships with Japan and secure opportunities for Malaysia in the gaming industry. Simultaneously, MDEC will host the Malaysia Digital Expo 2023 (MDX2023), a six-week platform showcasing Malaysia’s digital economy and readiness to explore global opportunities.
20 September 2023 – Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) are teaming up to lead a delegation of 16 Malaysian gaming and creative content companies to the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2023, one of Japan’s largest annual trade exhibitions for video game developers and one of the world’s premier gaming events. The event will run from September 21 to September 24, 2023.
MDEC is dedicated to showcasing the talent of Malaysian gaming developers, strengthening crucial partnerships with Japan, and creating opportunities to engage with global industry leaders through TGS2023, themed ‘Games In Motion, The World In Revolution.’ MDEC is poised to engage with major Japanese publishers, developers, and investors to secure opportunities for Malaysia, including Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), export and outsourcing agreements, Intellectual Property (IP) publishing partnerships, and funding for the Digital Content Industry.
Among the 16 Malaysian gaming companies participating in TGS2023 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba are Acxyn, Ammobox Studios, Glow Production, Hide & Seeds Production, Illusionist Animation Studio, IXI Creatives, Kaigan Games, Magnus Games Studio, Quurk, Syncraft, Ten Ten Studio, Weyrdworks, The Illusion Picture, Dreamfact, Metal Brain Studio, and Fly Studio.
Simultaneously, MDEC is set to host the Malaysia Digital Expo 2023 (MDX2023) in September, a six-week-long empowerment platform that brings together the best of Malaysia’s digital economy for an extensive ‘Show and Tell’ extravaganza. As the newest addition to the global tech expo and conference circuit, MDX2023 will showcase Malaysia’s readiness to explore and expand its digital ecosystem, opening doors for businesses to expand into the ASEAN region and beyond.
