Aonic has secured USD10 million in Series A funding led by Kairous Capital to expand its Malaysia-built drone ecosystem globally. The profitable agri-drone leader plans to scale manufacturing, deepen R&D and grow its international reseller network across more than 15 countries.
MALAYSIA, 3 MARCH 2026 – Malaysia-founded drone technology company Aonic has announced the successful close of a USD10 million Series A funding round aimed at accelerating its regional and international growth. The round is led by Kairous Capital, a regional private equity and venture capital firm backed by Jelawang Capital through its Emerging Fund Managers’ Programme.
Founded in 2016, Aonic provides end-to-end drone solutions designed to modernise agriculture and industrial operations across Southeast Asia. The company replaces labour-intensive and hazardous manual spraying methods with drone-powered precision systems, reporting significant productivity gains based on internal farm performance data. Participating farms have recorded income increases of up to 50%, output growth of around 54%, and water usage reductions of approximately 75% compared with manual spraying.
The company operates a fully integrated ecosystem, designing and manufacturing its own drones and proprietary software in-house. This vertical integration gives Aonic control over performance, costs and product development while enabling it to support customers through training, financing and agri-input retail services.
Aonic’s after-sales network includes more than 50 3S centres across Southeast Asia, providing sales, service and spare parts support. The company is recognised as a market leader in the agri-drone segment in both Malaysia and Thailand, with drones widely adopted for plantation and farm spraying operations.
Financially, Aonic has demonstrated rapid growth, achieving triple-digit compound annual growth since 2022 and surpassing USD60 million in annual revenue. The company has also been profitable since 2023, underscoring its scalable operating model and disciplined execution.
With drones currently deployed in over 15 countries, Aonic plans to expand its global reseller and distributor network as part of its next growth phase. The new capital will be used to strengthen research and development capabilities, enhance proprietary drone technologies and scale manufacturing capacity in Malaysia.
Beyond international expansion, Aonic continues to play a nation-building role in Malaysia’s agriculture sector. Through financing programmes, certified training initiatives and ecosystem integration, the company aims to lower barriers to drone adoption for both smallholders and large estate operators.
Backed by fresh capital and nearly a decade of operational groundwork, Aonic is positioning itself to export Malaysian-built drone technology to global markets while driving agricultural and industrial transformation.
