KUALA LUMPUR, 24 June 2023 – The Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry (MOSTI) proudly announces that Malaysia has secured the 20th position in the prestigious World’s Strong Starters Ranking list, as revealed in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2023 published by Startup Genome. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the concerted efforts and strategic initiatives undertaken to cultivate a thriving startup ecosystem in Malaysia.

The success can be attributed to the implementation of the Malaysia Startup Ecosystem Roadmap 2021-2030 (SUPER), spearheaded by Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd, the designated startup coordinating agency, and the culmination of robust funding activities associated with startups. The roadmap sets an ambitious target of supporting 5,000 startups by 2025, further propelling Malaysia’s position as a leading player in the global startup landscape.

“We are delighted by Malaysia’s ranking in the World’s Strong Starters Ranking list. This achievement is a testament to the tireless efforts put forth to create an enabling environment for startups to thrive. Through strategic collaborations and initiatives outlined in SUPER, we aim to drive the growth of innovative startups and contribute to the overall economic development of Malaysia,” stated the Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry.
