LONGi Unveils Hi-MO 9 and Expands Solar Commitment at Malaysia’s SOLAR SYNERGISTICS Conference 2024

LONGi’s participation at the SOLAR SYNERGISTICS Conference 2024 underscored its commitment to advancing solar technology in Malaysia through local investments, innovative products like the Hi-MO 9, and a strong partnership with MIDA to promote sustainable energy solutions.


19 May 2024 – LONGi, the world’s leading solar technology company, made a significant impact at the SOLAR SYNERGISTICS Conference 2024 organized by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in Malaysia.

Strengthening Local Ties and Infrastructure

During the conference, LONGi highlighted its commitment to developing localized customer and community networks in collaboration with MIDA. The company has invested in constructing three factories in Malaysia, located in Kuching, Bintulu, and Selangor, with a combined capacity exceeding 10GW per year. Additionally, LONGi has established its Asia Pacific headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, aligning with its vision: SOLAR FOR ALL. Mr. Frank Zhao, APAC President at LONGi, expressed gratitude to the Malaysian government for its active guidance and support in the photovoltaic industry.

Technological Advancements and New Product Launches

LONGi unveiled its Back Contact product roadmap at the conference. Ms. Dana Yang, APAC Head of Market and Solutions at LONGi, showcased the company’s advanced technology and ongoing innovation. She introduced LONGi’s new flagship product, the Hi-MO 9 solar module, which was released on May 9. The Hi-MO 9 features capabilities of up to 660W, utilizing 2nd generation Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) solar cell technology and the TaiRay silicon wafer, launched by LONGi in March 2024. This module boasts a conversion efficiency of up to 24.43% and is designed to perform in various challenging environments, including lakes, mountains, and deserts.

Partnership and Future Goals

Mr. Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Chief Executive Officer at MIDA, praised LONGi’s leadership in technological innovation and sustainable development. Both MIDA and LONGi reaffirmed their shared commitment to developing efficient clean energy systems for widespread adoption.
