Lazada Malaysia brought its LazadaForGood initiative to Ramadan bazaars in Bangsar and Seri Sentosa, supporting local vendors while distributing meals to communities ahead of iftar. The initiative reflects Lazada’s commitment to strengthening trust, community engagement and support for local entrepreneurs beyond the digital marketplace.
MALAYSIA, 17 MARCH 2026 – This Ramadan, Lazada Malaysia extended its commitment to community support beyond the digital space by bringing its LazadaForGood initiative directly to local Ramadan bazaars. Through on-the-ground engagement at Bazaar Ramadan Bangsar and Bazaar Ramadan Seri Sentosa, the e-commerce platform supported local vendors while creating meaningful moments of giving for the community during the fasting month.
Ramadan bazaars are a cherished tradition in Malaysia, where food, culture and entrepreneurship come together. Behind each stall are hardworking local entrepreneurs who dedicate long hours to preparing meals while sustaining their livelihoods throughout the festive season.
Recognising this, LazadaForGood focused on celebrating and supporting the vendors who play a vital role in shaping the sights, flavours and spirit of Ramadan each year. The initiative also turned this support into an opportunity to give back to the wider community.
The programme began on 3 March 2026 at Bazaar Ramadan Bangsar, where Malaysian content creator and host Daniel Cheang joined the Lazada team in purchasing meals from local vendors. The meals were later distributed at Masjid Saidina Abu Bakar As Siddiq to members of the public gathering to break fast together.
The initiative continued on 8 March 2026 at Bazaar Ramadan Seri Sentosa, where social media personalities The Pretty Mamas joined LazadaForGood alongside Malaysia’s Minister of Communications, YB Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. During the visit, the group spent time interacting with vendors and observing the dedication behind the preparation of meals during the holy month.
Meals purchased during the visit were then distributed to the public at Masjid Saidina Abu Bakar As Siddiq and Masjid Al-Imam At-Tirmizi after Asar prayers and during iftar. The effort connected local vendors with communities beyond the bazaar, turning everyday purchases into acts of generosity.
According to Fahmi Fadzil, initiatives like this help strengthen compassion, solidarity and shared responsibility within society, particularly during Ramadan. He noted that programmes that bring together entrepreneurs, organisations and the community not only support local livelihoods but also reinforce social bonds.
Lazada Malaysia also views such initiatives as an extension of its role within the broader digital economy. Khairil Ahmad, Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Lazada Malaysia, said the company sees trust as a responsibility that must be demonstrated through consistent actions.
Through LazadaForGood, the company aims to support local businesses while contributing positively to the communities that form the backbone of its platform. By connecting its digital ecosystem with real-world community engagement, Lazada continues to reinforce its commitment to inclusive growth and meaningful impact.
During Ramadan, a season deeply rooted in generosity and compassion, the initiative highlights how technology platforms can bridge commerce and community, turning everyday interactions into opportunities to support those around us.
