Keeper Security has introduced Verify Mode, a new anti-phishing feature that validates credential use in real time. The capability strengthens enterprise security by preventing users from entering passwords on malicious or untrusted websites.
SINGAPORE, 28 APRIL 2026 – Keeper Security has unveiled Verify Mode, a new anti-phishing capability in version 17.8 of its browser extension, designed to prevent users from entering credentials into malicious or unrecognised websites.
As phishing attacks grow increasingly sophisticated, credential theft remains a major entry point for cyber breaches. Research from Verizon indicates that 60% of breaches involve a human element, including phishing and credential misuse, highlighting the need for stronger real-time protections.
Verify Mode introduces an active security layer at the point of credential entry. It monitors password paste activity and validates whether the destination website matches the corresponding record stored in the user’s vault. If a mismatch is detected, users receive an immediate alert with the option to proceed or cancel before credentials are submitted.
According to Darren Guccione, CEO and Co-founder of Keeper Security, the feature addresses one of the most vulnerable moments in cybersecurity—when users input their credentials—by shifting protection from passive storage to active, real-time validation.
The feature includes configurable protection levels to suit organisational needs. Medium mode alerts users when credentials are pasted into a different site than saved, High mode warns against pasting into any unrecognised site, while Maximum mode requires confirmation before any password is pasted, including on trusted domains.
Verify Mode extends Keeper’s zero-trust architecture beyond credential storage to enforce secure usage practices in real time. This approach helps organisations reduce the risk of credential-based attacks, improve compliance readiness and minimise human error, which remains a leading cause of security breaches.
The feature is part of Keeper’s broader identity security platform, which integrates password management, secrets management, endpoint privilege management, AI-driven threat detection and privileged access controls into a unified cloud-based solution.
Additional updates in the browser extension include prompts encouraging users to disable native browser password managers in favour of Keeper’s solution, as well as enhanced support for custom fields within stored records. These updates aim to improve both security and usability for enterprise users.
Verify Mode is now available for enterprise customers, with administrators able to configure protection settings through the Keeper Admin Console.
