Inaugural Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference 2024 Launches in Sarawak, Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future

The Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference & Exhibition 2024 commenced in Kuching, Malaysia, marking a significant step towards a sustainable hydrogen economy in the region. The event, featuring industry leaders and major companies, aims to position Sarawak as a global hub for green hydrogen innovation.


10 June 2024 – The inaugural Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference & Exhibition 2024 (APGH 2024) officially began today at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. Launched by the Premier of Sarawak, this event marks a pivotal moment in the region’s commitment to a sustainable and green hydrogen economy. Running from June 10 to 12, APGH 2024 brings together global industry leaders, policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to explore and promote the potential of green hydrogen.

Organized by Borneo Business Connect Sdn Bhd, with support from the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak and Business Events Sarawak, the conference aims to position Sarawak as a global hub for green hydrogen production and innovation.

Tan Sri Datuk Asmat Kamaludin, Chairman of Borneo Business Connect Sdn Bhd, expressed his enthusiasm at the launch. “Hosting APGH 2024 in Sarawak signifies a major step towards a sustainable future. The discussions, innovations, and collaborations here will pave the way for a robust green hydrogen economy in the Asia Pacific region.”

APGH 2024 features a diverse program with keynote addresses, panel discussions, technical sessions, and an extensive exhibition showcasing the latest green hydrogen technologies. Over 100 exhibitors and 500 delegates are expected, making the event a catalyst for new projects, investments, and partnerships.

Tan Sri Datuk Asmat Kamaludin highlighted the remarkable interest and participation from major companies like PETRONAS, SUMITOMO, Lotte Chemical, and Samsung Engineering. “This conference provides a unique platform for stakeholders to network, exchange knowledge, and explore collaboration opportunities.”

Sarawak’s abundant renewable energy resources and strategic initiatives position it as a leader in the green hydrogen sector. The state government has set ambitious goals to enhance its hydrogen economy, focusing on increasing green hydrogen production and attracting significant investments.
