THAILAND, 7 JULY 2026 – HYPSET presented its latest cable-structure PV mounting technologies at ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week (ASEW) 2026 in Bangkok, showcasing how the solutions can open new opportunities for commercial and industrial, aquavoltaic, and complex-terrain solar applications across Southeast Asia.
Thailand has become one of Southeast Asia’s most promising solar markets, driven by strong government support for renewable energy and ambitious clean-energy transition targets. Rising electricity demand from commercial and industrial sectors, combined with the country’s abundant agricultural and aquaculture resources, has supported growing interest in distributed solar and aquavoltaic applications.
Despite this momentum, Thailand’s varied landscape of mountains, hills and water bodies presents challenges for conventional fixed-tilt mounting systems, which are often costly to build and difficult to adapt to complex terrain. These systems also tend to require significant land area, increasing project costs and limiting opportunities to integrate solar power with agriculture and aquaculture.
HYPSET said its cable-structure PV mounting solutions are designed to address these constraints through engineering built for site adaptability. For commercial and industrial distributed solar, the technology can be deployed across industrial facilities, parking lots, wastewater treatment plants and other underused spaces, generating solar power while preserving existing site functions and reducing construction complexity. The company added that the system’s wind and seismic performance is built to withstand Thailand’s hot, humid climate and seasonal typhoon conditions, supporting long-term reliability and lower maintenance costs.
For aquaculture applications, HYPSET’s cable-structure system uses a large-span design with minimal pile foundations, leaving ample space beneath PV modules. This is intended to allow solar generation above water to coexist with aquaculture activity below, supporting more efficient use of water resources in Thailand’s aquavoltaic sector.
HYPSET, which describes itself as a global pioneer in cable-structure PV mounting systems, has built a strong presence in China and is expanding across Southeast Asia, backed by a portfolio of more than 100 patents. The company said its participation at ASEW 2026 reflects its broader commitment to global market development, and that it will continue investing in engineering and innovation to accelerate adoption of cable-structure PV technology.
