Huasun Energy and ITRAMAS Partner for 1.5 GW Solar Projects to Boost Malaysia’s Renewable Energy

Huasun Energy and ITRAMAS Corporation have partnered to develop 1.5 GW of solar projects in Malaysia, contributing to the country’s renewable energy goals. The agreement, supported by Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap, aims to strengthen the nation’s solar supply chain with advanced photovoltaic technology.

11 October 2024 – Huasun Energy, a global leader in solar energy technology, has entered a strategic partnership with Malaysia’s largest integrated solar power developer and EPC contractor, ITRAMAS Corporation Sdn. Bhd., to develop 1.5 GW of photovoltaic projects. This partnership was formalized at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2024.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was witnessed by YB Tuan Mohd Rafizi Bin Ramli, Malaysia’s Minister of Economic Affairs, marking a significant step forward in strengthening the country’s solar energy infrastructure. Under the agreement, Huasun will gradually supply ITRAMAS with 700W+ high-efficiency heterojunction (HJT) modules, starting in 2025. These advanced modules will be deployed in ITRAMAS’ large-scale solar projects, which are expected to contribute significantly to Malaysia’s renewable energy goals.

The collaboration aligns with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with solar energy playing a crucial role in raising the renewable energy share to 70% by then. Solar power is expected to account for 58% of this mix, making partnerships like that of Huasun and ITRAMAS key to the nation’s energy transition.

ITRAMAS, which already operates over 200 MW of solar power projects and is developing an additional 1.5 GW, will benefit from Huasun’s technical expertise and innovations in photovoltaic technology. The partnership also positions Malaysia as a hub for cutting-edge solar technology in the ASEAN region.

Huasun, the world’s largest manufacturer of HJT products with a capacity of 20 GW, has already supplied more than 7 GW of these products to over 40 countries. The company’s commitment to sustainability and clean energy aligns closely with ITRAMAS’ mission to advance Malaysia’s renewable energy capabilities and support global efforts toward a sustainable future.
