HRD Corp Launches National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition 2023 Borneo Region

The Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) launched the National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE) 2023 – Borneo Region in partnership with the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (SEDIA). The conference aimed to equip leaders and industry professionals with skills and knowledge to drive transformative human capital initiatives in Sabah and Sarawak, featuring renowned speakers, interactive discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.


KOTA KINABALU, 4 July 2023 – The Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) officially launched the National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE) 2023 – Borneo Region today in a ceremony officiated by Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan, Deputy Chief Minister I of Sabah, and Yang Berhormat Tuan V. Sivakumar, Minister of Human Resources. Organized in partnership with the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (SEDIA), the NHCCE 2023 – Borneo Region took place at the Sabah International Convention Centre between 4 and 5 July.

The regional series of NHCCE was initiated following the success of the inaugural NHCCE 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, and due to industry demand, aimed to bring the human capital development-focused conference to different locations. Themed ‘HR 5.0: The Next Evolution in Human Resource Development,’ NHCCE 2023 – Borneo Region featured five discussion tracks focused on equipping leaders, industry players, senior management, HR practitioners, and working professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to champion transformative human capital initiatives in their organizations. The conference also provided solutions and a path forward for human capital development in Sabah and Sarawak.

Over 1,000 delegates from Sabah and Sarawak participated in the conference, which hosted 23 renowned local and international speakers, including Aireen Omar, President (Investment & Ventures) of Capital A, Charles Brewer, Group Chief Executive of Pos Malaysia Berhad, Roshan Thiran, Founder of Leadernomics, and Irene Ong, Head of Talent and Learning Solutions (Malaysia) at LinkedIn, among others. The event also featured 40 exhibitors, including the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), Evopoint Sdn. Bhd., and Sabah Skills and Technology Centre.

Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan emphasized the importance of strategic human capital development solutions for Sabah and Sarawak and praised NHCCE 2023 – Borneo Region for providing a platform for meaningful discussions on human capital challenges and opportunities. Yang Berhormat Tuan V. Sivakumar commended HRD Corp for their commitment and dedication in bringing the conference to Sabah and the Borneo Region for the first time and highlighted the personal and professional development opportunities it offers to talents and the workforce.

The successful conclusion of NHCCE 2023 – Borneo Region marks the end of the regional series, and HRD Corp will be bringing the flagship NHCCE 2023 back to the Klang Valley at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) later this year.
