Rebecca PY GCash’s lending unit Fuse Financing has launched GLoan Protect, providing free health and loan insurance to eligible GLoan borrowers. The move embeds insurance into digital lending to enhance financial security for Filipino users.
PHILIPPINES, 20 JANUARY 2026 – Fuse Financing Inc., the lending arm of GCash, together with GInsure, has introduced a new value-added feature for its digital lending service by offering free insurance coverage to eligible GLoan borrowers in the Philippines.
Under the limited-time program called GLoan Protect, every approved GLoan disbursement of at least PHP 500 comes with complimentary health and loan insurance underwritten by Oona Insurance Corporation. The initiative aims to integrate financial protection directly into digital credit, providing borrowers with greater peace of mind without additional cost.
Tony Isidro, President and CEO of Fuse Financing Inc., said the program addresses the low adoption of insurance among Filipinos by embedding protection at the point of borrowing, helping users feel more secure against unforeseen events.
The health insurance component provides a hospitalization allowance for borrowers who are confined for a minimum of three days, offering a benefit of at least PHP 500 or up to 10% of the total loan value. Meanwhile, the loan insurance becomes effective upon loan disbursement and remains valid throughout the loan tenure, covering the outstanding balance in the event of death or accident-related permanent disability, with any remaining benefit payable to the borrower’s beneficiaries.
The initiative is made possible through a partnership with Oona Insurance Corporation, which continues to expand its digital-first insurance offerings in the Philippines. According to GCash and its parent company Mynt, the integration of credit and protection reflects a broader strategy to enhance financial resilience through embedded finance solutions.
GLoan Protect is available for new GLoan transactions from January 16 to March 31, 2026, for fully verified Filipino GCash users aged 21 to 65.
