Free Fire will spread joy among the underprivileged during this holiday season by partnering with Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), a non-profit and non-governmental local organisation, to redistribute surplus food and donate fun packs during this festive season.
Through this initiative, Free Fire finds new ways to spread cheer during this year-end holiday period. Dubbed ‘Mr. Waggor’s Airdrop’, the initiative centres around Free Fire’s in-game pet penguin, Mr. Waggor, who will come to life as a mascot to bring excitement and interact with the children and families who are involved.
This initiative extends across the Klang Valley, reaching over 500 families in the region. From 20 to 23 December, Mr. Waggor’s Airdrop will arrive in neighbourhoods around the state, with collection points set up daily from 4PM to 6PM to distribute food and fun packs. Alongside the distribution, families in those areas are welcome to visit and play with the mascot – Mr. Waggor.
The overall theme of Mr. Waggor’s Airdrop serves as a proxy to the game’s New Age campaign, which focuses on a mission to warm up the barren winterlands for a good cause, much like how Mr. Waggor is warming the hearts of families through gifts and community interactions.
Beyond the community initiative, the in-game event, New Age, will also provide players with free present-shaped in-game tokens that they can use to exchange for rare prizes like legendary weapon crates and an emote.
Mr. Waggor’s Airdrop and Free Fire’s partnership with KSK is among the ways Free Fire seeks to give back and support the local community. KSK has been serving marginalised communities in Malaysia for over 13 years. The non-governmental organisation has recently expanded to reach the urban poor via Food Bank and Empowerment Programs.
