Foreigners Prefer ePayments While Traveling in Malaysia

Sept 4, 2013 (Wed): According to the VISA Country Manager for Malaysia Stuart Tomlinson, the mature of the local electronic payments or ePayments system in the country had made more foreign travellers using ePayments during their visit to the country. Overseas VISA cardholders’ spending was increased 6.5 per cent last year, from RM488 billion to RM5.22 billion, Bernama reported.

Tomlinson said that Singapore, Australia, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, the United States, Japan, Saudi Arabia, China, Hong Kong and South Korea are the top 10 countries on overall travellers’ spending and they account for 64.2 per cent of total spending by overseas VISA cards in the country.
