Terry KS Delivery Hero’s subsidiary, foodpanda, has launched bekal, a halal-certified delivery service in Malaysia that guarantees end-to-end halal food deliveries to customers.
The service will only offer food from halal-certified vendors on the foodpanda platform and will use a halal-certified delivery fleet with specialized riders.
The bekal service will be initially available in the city of Putrajaya, with a planned expansion into all areas in the Klang Valley region by July 2023, followed by a nationwide rollout. Sayantan Das, CEO of foodpanda Malaysia and bekal by foodpanda, said that the service responds to the increasing demand among customers for end-to-end halal-compliant delivery services.
