Terry KS AUSTRALIA, 10 AUGUST 2026 – Wireless communication modules and AI solutions provider Fibocom recently joined forces with distribution partner Future Electronics at the Future Supplier Tech Fest Australia 2026, hosting technical sessions and product demonstrations across Sydney and Melbourne. The joint participation aimed to deepen technical engagement with Internet of Things companies, device manufacturers, and solution providers operating in Australia and New Zealand.
As Fibocom’s key regional distribution partner, Future Electronics utilizes its local distribution network and market presence to connect customers with cutting-edge technologies, while Fibocom supplies product selection guidance, solution evaluation, and local design-in support.
At the events, Fibocom presented its full range of wireless connectivity offerings, featuring 5G, 5G RedCap, LTE, GNSS, smart modules, development kits, PCBA solutions, and terminal demonstrations. These technologies address critical operational needs across asset tracking, environmental monitoring, smart metering, industrial sensing, and mobile broadband platforms.
A technical highlight of the event was a presentation by Athula Kumara, Senior Field Application Engineer for Fibocom ANZ, focusing on the cost and power benefits of OpenCPU architecture. By allowing application code to execute directly on cellular modules, OpenCPU simplifies printed circuit board design, lowers overall component count, and reduces power consumption. Fibocom highlighted its LE270-EU and LE271-GL LTE Cat 1 bis OpenCPU modules tailored specifically for power-sensitive and cost-conscious deployment environments.
Steve Albuquerque, Director of Regional Business Development at Future Electronics, noted that attendee interest was particularly strong around the low-power capabilities of the LE271-GL cellular module and the MGB208-A GNSS module. He added that Future Electronics looks forward to continuing the collaborative roadshow during upcoming technology events in New Zealand.
